Learn why digestive/intestinal issues may cause low back pain. Inflammation in the gut caused by stress, food sensitivity or intolerance, disbiosis, dehydration, fungus and parasites infections, GM foods, sugar, medical drugs or other conditions cause visceral reflex inhibition, in other words, because this system shares the same nerves in the spine with the core muscles, they pick up the pain from the intestine. If core muscles are inhibited, the low back becomes unstable leading to pain, stiffness and muscle imbalances. Symptoms of G.I. Then the other thing is, if it is dietary, there are a lot of dietary aids that you can use to help digest the foods to help reduce the gas. Lactose intolerants are people who can't drink milk. When they drink milk, they may note that they get very gassy. They can either take Lactaid milk or they can try Lactaid pills, or they can try different types of milk that are not dairy milks, such as hemp milk, rice milk, or soy milk. There are certain people who can't digest wheat, either gluten intolerance or celiac disease. When they eat wheat, they tend to get very gassy because they don't have the enzymes, or they don't tolerate eating wheat. By reducing the amount of carbohydrates that they're eating or completely take it out of their diet, it may help with their bloating and their gas. Gas is also produced by a malfunction of the bacteria in our colons so that it's not efficiently digesting our food. By taking a pro-biotic, or having some Greek yogurt, that helps to bring the healthy bacteria back in and really help our digestion, and help thereby help reduce some of the gas that we're expelling.

How to Treat Digestive Disorders that Cause Indigestion, Bloating and Gastrointestinal Disease http://drchristianson.com/blog Let’s face it. When your digestion isn’t working properly, it’s no fun. Do you suffer from cramping, bloating, irregularity, swelling or irritable bowel syndrome? You may be eating food that’s good for you, exercising, drinking lots of water, and your stomach is still uncomfortable and cramping after you eat. What is going on? To help explain, picture you have a long, tubular conveyor belt running all the way from your mouth to your other end, and there are a series of rings around that tube. When the tube works perfectly, the rings squeeze in order and push the food you’ve eaten along the conveyor belt. First, your mouth chews the food. You swallow it. It’s pushed into your stomach. You chemically break it down. Then, you physically absorb it in your small intestine. From there, you bring it into your bloodstream. Finally, your large intestine absorbs the fluid and electrolytes. Then, at the end of the conveyor belt, you eliminate the rest. When it all works in sequence, all is well. However, when the sequence isn’t right, it creates bloating, gas and discomfort. What can you do about it? 1) Improve your flora. Creating healthier, more resilient bowel flora is critical because the flora is forming your nutrients. It is the backbone of your immune system. It’s also rebuilding your gut. When your flora isn’t healthy, the more your intestines don’t work right and things escalate. When your flora is healthy, you are healthy. What about probiotics? Probiotics have their place. I’m actually a fan of the yeast-based probiotics. One is called saccharomyces boulardii. The most research has been done on this strain regarding its general use to make your intestinal tract healthier, stable and repair damage done by antibiotic use. Many of the bacterial-based probiotics may be helpful, but they have pitfalls. In your body, these strains make up less than a fraction of a percent of your flora. They’re also difficult to manufacture and are pretty unstable. Quality control studies show they are hit-or-miss as to how well they survive the manufacturing and transporting process. I’m also a fan of N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG), as it rebuilds the intestinal lining. It’s what your body uses to repair itself. Bone broths have been popularized lately because they contain NAG. I recommend purified NAG over bone broth since the broths contain high levels of lead. Lead is harmful to the brain, bones and kidneys. Purified NAG, however, is very effective and safe. What else can you do to restore healthy flora? The main thing affecting your flora health is your diet, specifically the indigestible fractions. These are the parts that make it down to the colon and influence the flora. So, what are we really talking about? Fiber, pectin compounds and glutamine. Fiber There are three types of fiber, and it’s good to get a mixture of all three in your diet: Soluble: This type dissolves in water. It is abundantly found in fruits and vegetables, especially leafy greens. Nuts and seeds are also good sources. Insoluble: This type does not dissolve in water. The two main sources of insoluble fiber are beans and grains. (Many people with limited diets are lower in the types of flora insoluble fiber creates.) Resistant: This type of fiber feeds the bacteria that make you lean and healthy. These contain bacteroides which are found in foods like boiled potatoes, beans and legumes. In my practice, we’ve also concentrated them in our Adrenal Reset Shake. Remember: The more diversity you have in your diet, the more diversity you have in your flora. The more diverse your flora, the healthier and stronger it is. Pectin Compounds Research shows both apple and citrus pectin have unique effects in not only offsetting a lot of harmful organisms, but also increasing the good. We all have harmful organisms in our intestinal tract that would hurt us if they became more prominent. Picture it this way: There is a terrible riot, and the police are busy trying to get it under control. Because the law enforcers are preoccupied, the minor criminals get busy breaking windows and stealing televisions. This is what happens in the intestinal tract. When the good flora is weakened, there are some opportunists that can create problems. Pectin compounds prevent this from happening. Glutamine Glutamine works in the same way as pectin compounds. Glutamine can be found by itself or in other products. It feeds the cells that repair the junction between your individual colon cells. It makes the junctions tighter and stronger, raising your intestinal resiliency. This heals the nerves, so cramping is no longer a factor. Subscribe to Reset Me With Dr. C for more healthy habits. Crohn's disease nursing review regarding diet, symptoms, pathophysiology, nursing interventions and treatment for NCLEX exam. Crohn's disease is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation and ulcers formation in the GI tract. Crohn's can be found in both the small and large intestine; however, it seems to be most common in the terminal of the ileum and beginning of the colon. Crohn's disease affects the whole bowel lining which is why its complications are unique when comparing crohn's disease vs ulcerative colitis. Crohn's disease complications include fistulas, fissures, abscesses, malnourishment, strictures which can lead to bowel obstructions, and other changes such as mouth ulcers, skin changes, gall and liver problems etc. Crohn's disease symptoms include abdominal pain (which tends to be located in the right lower abdomen), ulcers in the mouth and GI lining, anal fissures, diarrhea which can contain pus, mucous, and blood, and undernourishment. Crohn's disease tends to present in scattered patches throughout the GI tract where healthy areas will be noted next to diseased areas. This will give a cobble-stone appearance during a scope of the GI lining. This is different than ulcerative colitis which tends to start in the rectum and migrate in a continuous fashion through the large intestine without any skipped areas. Nursing interventions for Crohn's Disease include: educating patient about this condition along with medication and diet regime and smoking cessation, monitoring nutrition status, assessing GI system by monitoring bowel sounds, bowel movements, monitoring administration of TPN (total parenteral nutrition) if ordered, providing ostomy education (if the patient has one). Medications used to treat Crohn's includes: 5-Aminosalicylates, corticosteroids, Immunosuppression drugs, etc. Quiz on Crohn's Disease: http://www.registerednursern.com/crohns-disease-nclex-questions/ Lecture Notes: http://www.registerednursern.com/crohns-disease-nclex-review/ Ulcerative Colitis NCLEX Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICkNjkg6BHs GI NCLEX Lectures: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfVVQ5TeRY7Vy1Tq3pcGTDFO Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=registerednursern Nursing School Supplies: http://www.registerednursern.com/the-ultimate-list-of-nursing-medical-supplies-and-items-a-new-nurse-student-nurse-needs-to-buy/ Nursing Job Search: http://www.registerednursern.com/nursing-career-help/ Visit our website RegisteredNurseRN.com for free quizzes, nursing care plans, salary information, job search, and much more: http://www.registerednursern.com Check out other Videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/RegisteredNurseRN/videos All of our videos in a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAhHxt663pU&list=PLQrdx7rRsKfXMveRcN4df0bad3ugEaQnk Popular Playlists: NCLEX Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfWtwCDmLHyX2UeHofCIcgo0 Fluid & Electrolytes: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfWJSZ9pL8L3Q1dzdlxUzeKv Nursing Skills: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfUhd_qQYEbp0Eab3uUKhgKb Nursing School Study Tips: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfWBO40qeDmmaMwMHJEWc9Ms Nursing School Tips & Questions" https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfVQok-t1X5ZMGgQr3IMBY9M Teaching Tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfUkW_DpJekN_Y0lFkVNFyVF Types of Nursing Specialties: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfW8dRD72gUFa5W7XdfoxArp Healthcare Salary Information: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfVN0vmEP59Tx2bIaB_3Qhdh New Nurse Tips: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfVTqH6LIoAD2zROuzX9GXZy Nursing Career Help: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfVXjptWyvj2sx1k1587B_pj EKG Teaching Tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfU-A9UTclI0tOYrNJ1N5SNt Personality Types: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfU0qHnOjj2jf4Hw8aJaxbtm Dosage & Calculations for Nurses: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfUYdl0TZQ0Tc2-hLlXlHNXq Diabetes Health Managment: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfXtEx17D7zC1efmWIX-iIs9

The colon is a very important organ in the digestive system. Its job is to take the water, salt, vitamins, and nutrients out of food that cannot be digested, break down food that was not digested in the small intestine, and remove solid waste from the body. Before starting any colon cleansing treatment, ask your doctor for instructions, especially if you are taking any medications or suffering from any health condition. 1. Water The best thing you can do for colon cleansing is drink a lot of water. It is important to drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. This will help your body flush out the harmful toxins and waste in a natural way. Drinking a lot of water will also help the natural peristaltic action, helping the food move through the digestive system. Also, water is important to keep your body well hydrated. Together with water you can drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices. 2. Apple Juice Another great thing for colon cleansing is fresh apple juice. If you drink apple juice all the time, it can help bowel movements, break down toxins, and boost the health of the liver and the digestive system. 3. Lemon Juice Lemons are good for the digestive system because they have antioxidant properties and are full of vitamin C. For this reason, lemon juice is great for colon cleansing. Mix the juice of one lemon, a pinch of sea salt, and a little honey in a glass of lukewarm water. Drink this mixture in the morning on an empty stomach. This will give you more energy, better bowel movement, and better skin condition. 4. Raw Vegetable Juice For colon cleansing, it is important to keep away from processed and cooked foods for one or two days. Instead of eating solid foods, drink fresh vegetable juice a few times a day. Green vegetables are good because they have chlorophyll, which helps force toxins out of the body. They also have vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes which will keep your body healthy, and give you energy. You can also drink herbal teas. 5. Fiber-rich Foods Eating foods that are full of fiber will also help cleanse the colon of bad toxins. Fiber will keep the stool soft and help bowel movement, which helps the body force out waste products. Foods that are full of fiber will also get rid of any kind of intestinal problem. You can add a lot of fiber to your diet by eating fresh fruits like raspberries, pears, and apples, and fresh vegetables like artichokes, peas, and broccoli. There is also a lot of fiber in cereals, whole grains, nuts, beans and seeds. 6. Yogurt Eating fresh yogurt all the time is a good way to keep the colon healthy. Because yogurt is a probiotic food, it can bring good bacteria into the gut and help digestion. It can also fight inflammatory bowel disease. This is especially true of yogurts that have live and active cultures. 7. Flaxseed Because flaxseed is full of omega- 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and natural fibers, adding it to your diet is a great way to cleanse your colon. Flaxseed will take in the water and then swell in the colon, and help force out toxins and mucus as the waste passes through. It can also block cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. 8. Aloe Vera Aloe vera is known for killing toxins and acts as a laxative. This makes it a great colon cleanser. Aloe vera gel can also treat other health problems, like headaches, skin infection, diarrhea, gastric pain, and constipation. Add the juice of one lemon to fresh aloe vera gel and put the mixture in the blender to make a few ounces of smooth juice. Drink it a few times a day for a few days. 9. Ginger Ginger is a common ingredient that can lessen bloating, help the colon work properly, and keep it free from waste and bad toxins. It helps digestion by making the digestive juices flow. You can use ginger in any form, such as grated, as a juice, or as cut up pieces for colon cleansing. Inflammation may include: - gas, bloating - stomach pain - belly tenderness - excessive burping, belching - constipation/diarrhea Contact info: www.vitalecoaching.com https://www.facebook.com/pages/Vitalé-Lifestyle-Coaching/114511652075000
